"The purpose of playing is to hold, as 'twere, the mirror up to nature."  Hamlet, iii.2, 24

After earning my B.S. in physics from MIT and my Ph.D. from Brandeis University, I led the Microwave Component Technology Branch of the Air Force Research Laboratory in Bedford, MA for 30 years. I took an early retirement  joined the Thoreau Society and Marblehead Arts Association when I realized:

"Getting and spending we lay waste our powers, Little we find in nature that is ours." (Wordsworth)

In walking about New England, I discovered the beauty of sky and mountains silently mirrored in lakes and streams. "Water indeed reflects heaven." (Thoreau) While skiing in the Swiss alps, I experienced  the grandeur and magnificence of the Matterhorn and the Eiger.  In our wintertime, as I sailed and snorkeled in Caribbean seas, I rejoiced in the brilliant colors of tropical sunsets, fish, and coral reefs. In this exhibit, I relate natural splendor to poetry and Thoreau's wisdom,  available on a CD Mirror of Nature.
